Synapse was conceived first as a personal rehabilitation exercise after my brain tumor surgery in 2020 and the acquired brain injury that followed, but it also has a broader purpose: helping other people facing similar experiences.

The project aims to bridge a gap that often appears between medical discharge and real rehabilitation life, by connecting:

  • patients,
  • carers and relatives,
  • neurological and neurorehabilitation professionals.

The long-term vision is a social platform for people directly or indirectly affected by acquired brain injury and neurological disorders.

For years, Synapse remained on hold — the cognitive and physical sequelae from my surgeries made it impossible to carry forward on my own. The arrival of AI changed that. With its help, I’ve been able to begin implementing (at least partially) what had long felt out of reach.

From the technical side, Synapse is organized as a client-server project.
