How I deal with my memory problems

In my first entry, I mentioned my memory problems and that I always wear a little notebook in my pocket. At first, I used that notebook as if it was my whole memory (both short-term and long-term memory). When my neuropsychologist recommended that I extended the periods without writing on it, I started to use that notebook as if it was my long-term memory (think about it as a diary). I usually write on it at least twice a day: before lunch (writing down what I did in the morning) and at night, before going to bed (summarizing what I did the rest of the day).
Another thing I use a lot now are mnemonics. For instance, on Thursday I went to piano classes and during the class I had two ideas of phone messages I wanted to send to my teacher after the classes. As I didn’t want to interrupt the class, I tried to classify them by topics and joined the first letters of those topics. They formed a word that coincides with the name of a computer network protocol. Then I just had to remember the name of that network protocol and those two ideas came to my mind automatically. Similar to this, I use mnemonics continuously to retain things to buy, tasks to do and almost everything I want to remember.
Yes, it would be easier to be able to just remember the things I want to retain without having to elaborate all these mnemonics, the same as before (without taking into account that there is always the possibility of forgetting the way to decode them), but that’s life ¯\(ツ)/¯
